Welcome to 2018 - a year of reflection, reaction, re-dedication and the #facepalm of WTF was I thinking?

OK so Facebook is OH so 2010....and I am over it. I can't have an opinion, a thought, pass gas or anything else without someone attacking me for (insert your dogma here) and disallowing me my 1st amendment right to the freedom of speech.

Freedom, funny word there. Not one I would consider to be subjective. And yet, there are a lot of people who would have you believe that you have no right to freedom. No right to believe in God, or in America, or in family or any of the other time tested values we grew up with.

This blog is coming back to life. While there will be plenty of band announcements and other stuff, this blog is going to be real, it will be honest, it will be a no nonsense place for people to discuss. It will be me and will be for all.

Stay tuned and follow along!

Calli (aka Vicki Marie)

P.S. The word Calliope is a keyboard musical instrument. I am using it to mean music Vice is obvious. Music is my Vice....Hence Calliope's Vice

If you post on a blog, but few people know about the blog, and rarely read it, does it still count as putting your business out there for the world to see?

I have once again let this blog go into oblivion without so much as one post in the past year. Tsk Tsk Tsk. And I have so much to say! I just get caught up in life and the act of typing for minutes or even hours bores me so much that I find it hard to make myself sit down and do it. But if I could get one of those Dragon speak typing programs I might be able to coerce myself into doing it more often. Although if I did that, it would resemble something like a James Joyce novel, stream of consciousness, jumble of thoughts kind of mess. The ADD would kick in and it would be indecipherable. Lucky you the reader! HA! I'll try to write more.

The calm before the storm - Meet photographer Gail Torrey-Mele

A friend of mine, Gail Torrey-Mele, took this photo just before the hurricane hit but after a large thunderstorm had come through Fredericksburg Virginia. I like it. Hope you do too! You will see photos from time to time from Gail on my Facebook page. I try to credit her for all of them,  but sometimes I miss. Just know that if it's good and it's local it's probably one of Gail's! She has a great eye for photography.
